Not for me. I like it, i just want to see the end of the journey of the immortal Fushi because he never really found any happiness yet.

The modern arc really takes a massive nosedive in storytelling. It had a lot of potential but ruined it with stuff like the pedo character and romance bait with no payoff

What pedo character? Literally most characters that Fushi had contact with are under 18 to begin with.

Ya it should be adapted. It's still a major part of the story and it is now finished. It litterally answers all unanswered questions like the knokkers and "the black thing" while continuation of what happens to Hayase's lineage and her knokker.

This is the last story of Act 1 and the past. The next arc will be one long chapter and Act 2 is complete with the manga.

There is apparently announcement of Act 3 for the manga releasing this month as well even though it may have seemed Act 2 tied up loose ends. There were a few events like the black things origins and the knokkers that might be what Act 3 could be leading to and a mysterious girl lying in a dump and the island looking like a knokker cluster with a rune symbol in the sky which may indicate another god like entity like the black thing.

That's not a mysterious girl. It's the doll that Fushi loves. So most likely it's him in hiding. That's also the symbol of the church built around his worship. So it looks like the knockers have taken over the future.

I didn't think it would make any significance to the story even though they strongly show Fushi having no real ability to love romantically.As for the church I remember it initially being a triangle with an arrow not a diamond but it is the symbol well placed in the manga and on cover pages so I can see that. I was thinking at first it was the objects alongside Black Hood in Chapter 164.2 but they weren't symbols like I thought I remembered at first but objects. As for the knokkers who knows. We had it predicted that things would get worse but we've also had been shown of a developing relationship with human beings enough they wouldn't take over a body til it's death forming a bond with them and finding use from them and building a good relationship with the orphanage girl. It could also be that they developed on knokkers in the future. Maybe it involves both good and bad knokkers.

I hope they do, i just want to see Mizuha, one of the best girl for me even though what she went through.

I'm pretty sure the far they can get is him becoming a thing at the end and as e post-credit the beginning of the modern arc, cause adapting it wouldn't be "appealing" as of yet. Also I hate this arc even if it's the last one cause it just makes all Fushi's work go to trash ;-;.

You've hit the nail on what is happening. Fushi pretty much is also putting himself throughout the town to protect it when the knokker's arrive but he is overextending his abilities a bit here. Meanwhile building trust with the kingdom.

Unless this is a spoiler from the manga, I'm pretty sure he knows how to strengthen foundations.
